Pour 3″ (8 cm) of vegetable oil into a large, deep pot or electric fryer and heat to 360 F (182 C).
Dip a few shrimp at a time into the batter, gently place them in the hot oil, and fry for about 2 minutes, until they are golden brown on both sides. Turn once during cooking.
