Break and wash the asparagus.

Heat a large griddle and cook the asparagus on both sides until they are well marked. Once they are ready, distribute them among four plates and season with a squeeze of lemon juice and three times more olive oil. Season with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste, then bring a block of parmesan to the table to sprinkle over the asparagus.
