Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Butter a gratin dish. Sprinkle the bottom of the dish with minced garlic.
3. Cut the mushrooms into thick slices. Cut the sweet potatoes into thin slices.
4. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the mushrooms and cook, over low heat, for about 4 minutes, turning them from time to time. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Place a layer of sweet potatoes to cover the bottom of the dish. Cover with the mushrooms. Cover with a layer of sweet potatoes. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
6. Slowly pour the cream over the sweet potatoes. Add the grated mozzarella.
7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
8. Remove the foil and cook for another 15 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
