1. If you are using dried apricots, soak them in boiling water for 5 minutes off the heat. Reserve the water and add 150g of sugar. Put on low heat and bring to a boil. Soak the dried apricots in the syrup and let reduce by half. Taste and set aside.
 
2. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
 
3. Beat the sugar and butter until the mixture is light. Then add the eggs one by one, beating after each addition. Gradually add the flour.
 
4. Butter and sugar a cake mold. Fill with half of the mixture. Place the apricots.
 
5. Pour in the rest of the mixture and place the pear cubes.
 
6. Bake for 25 minutes.
 
7. Remove from the oven, unmold, and let cool on a rack before serving.
