Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Line the bottom of a 5 1/4″ (13cm) springform pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

Mix the Parmesan, breadcrumbs, and melted butter just until the mixture holds its shape.
Season with pepper and press the mixture into the prepared pan. Set aside.

Sauté the onion in olive oil over medium heat for two minutes, add the garlic and cook for one minute.
Remove from heat.

In a food processor fitted with a metal blade, combine the cream cheese, egg, and heavy cream. Process until smooth.
Add the smoked salmon, onion, and garlic, and mix until smooth.

Pour the cheese mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour.

Remove from the oven and let cool completely before slicing.
Decorate with smoked salmon slices. Serve with tartar sauce.
