1. In a pot, bring 2 L (70 fl oz) of boiling water to a boil with the broth cubes. Add the nuoc-mam, chili paste, and peeled ginger. Add the soybean sprouts. Remove from heat and let it swell for 3 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, peel the shrimp. Bring the broth to a boil again. Add the soybean sprouts, cucumber, chopped cilantro, and shrimp. Mix and remove the piece of ginger. Turn off the heat immediately.

3. Divide the soup into 4 bowls. Drizzle each bowl with ½ teaspoon (0.09 oz) of sesame oil. Serve immediately.
