1. Cut the garlic cloves in half. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with a garlic clove.
2. Finely chop the garlic cloves. Dissolve the cornstarch in the white wine.
3. In a saucepan, melt the cheese and chopped garlic over low heat, stirring constantly. Add the white wine and mix. Add the nutmeg and pepper. Cook for a few minutes.
4. Transfer the preparation to the fondue pot, over a chafing dish. Bring to the table and serve.
