Scrape the vanilla bean and set aside.
Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar, then add the milk, mixing well.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook until it reaches a coating consistency.
Refrigerate the English cream until it is very cold, then pour into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Red currant jelly
Strawberries
